Mark Making for Sketching
Spend a day getting to know how to use different art materials in this workshop that is all about experimentation and technique.
You will start by making a simple concertina book that you will then use to record your mark making so that afterwards you will have a reference book for future use when drawing and sketching.
Using a wide variety of media such as pencil, charcoal, graphite sticks, pastels, water soluble crayons, oil pastels etc. we will use these media in simple step by step exercises. These exercises will help you learn more about your materials and the kind of marks that you are able to make with them.
This workshop is experimental in nature so that you can have fun learning basic techniques that you can use in your own artwork in the future, using your concertina book as a reminder of what is possible.
This workshop is suitable for anyone looking to learn more about how to get the best from their art materials, from beginners to experienced artists.
A light lunch, refreshments and all materials are included in the workshop fee.
