Introduction to Relief Wood Carving

Spend a day learning the basic skills used in relief woodcarving, including laying out of the design, setting-in, carving technique, tool selection and sharpening. This takes place in a relaxed and positive, can-do atmosphere with close supervision and plenty of demonstration.
Participants will be guided through a simple project of their own design with a view to complete in one day.

By the end of the day you will take home a complete, or near-complete carving of your own, as well as an understanding of the tools and techniques needed to continue your own woodcarving in the future.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some woodcarving experience.

All materials, a light lunch and refreshment is included in the workshop fee.
