The course will begin with an introduction to basic leather skills (or refreshing your memory of them) by firstly learning and practising how to hand stitch leather. You will learn about marking out, how to choose appropriate leather, hand saddle stitching and edge finishing.
Following this, everyone will proceed to make one unlined leather satchel.
You will work from prepared patterns and you can choose from a range of leathers to have your own bespoke colour combinations. By making small alterations such as changing stitch colour, choosing the buckles etc. your finished bag will be unique to you.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or for those with some experience.
All materials to make one leather satchel are provided by your tutor. This cost is included in your course fee.
A light lunch will be provided.
