Upholstery

Is that old armchair looking sad and saggy or maybe that dining chair needs a simple, freshly covered seat. Bring along a small item of furniture and learn how to upholster using traditional methods.

Depending on what you have chosen to restore, this could include woodwork restoration, webbing, stuffing, springing and covering. Workshops can be taken as individual sessions for simple repairs and restorations or as multiple sessions for larger projects.

Your tutor will have upholstery tools that you can borrow and basic materials for stuffing and springing. You will need to bring along your own upholstery fabric.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and improvers.

A picnic lunch will be provided.

Paper Quilling Letters

Quilling or paper filigree involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.

Start by practising various techniques with your special quilling tool and paper strips. Learn how to construct your design and how to piece it all together creating a lovely and uniquely decorated letter. With so many colours to choose from and shapes to make, the possibilities are endless.

You may wish to encase your finished letter in a simple box frame; perfect as a present or to mark a special occasion.

Tutor will provide all materials for this workshop. These include a special quilling tool for you to take home and a box frame for your letter. This cost is included in your fee.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and improvers.

A picnic lunch will be provided.

Festive Candle Making
New Date Added

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon discovering the delights of candle making.

Learn how to pour a container candle using sustainable rapeseed wax, festive fragrances and sparkling, festive candle jars. Learn how to 'wick' candles correctly and how to add colour and fragrance to poured candles. You will also make either Christmas tree candles, or two colour ‘helter skelter’ candles with beautiful coloured sheets of beeswax.

A wonderful way to decorate your home over the festive period.

Tutor will provide materials for this workshop. This cost is included in your course fee.

Festive Soap Making
New Date Added

Handmade soaps are a delight, even more so if you have made them yourself. Come and join us, melting, stirring and pouring our way to the perfect, cold process, traditional soap.

On this workshop you will be creating the amazing Taiwan soap swirl which is both beautiful and surprisingly simple to master.  Why not add some delicious fragrances such as orange and mint to enhance that festive feeling.  You will each create a 500gms batch of soap (equivalent to approximately 6 standard bars of soap).

Tutor will provide materials for this workshop. This cost is included in your course fee.
