Create a variety of bangles from plain or decorative silver, copper and brass strips. These can be worn separately or together in an assemblage of your choice.
During this workshop you will learn how to solder the various metals and how to achieve different profiles and finishes to achieve your own unique jewellery.

MORE POLYCLAY

Designed as a follow on workshop from 'Poly Clay'. This workshop will teach you the exciting techniques of Mokume Gane and how to use an extruder. This effective technique results in an amazing array of layered colours and designs in your clay. You will use these to create a fabulous brooch and a shawl pin.
Students will need a certain degree of dexterity and strength for hand conditioning the clay.

SILVER CLAY RINGS

Make a beautiful solid silver ring from silver clay to your own unique design.
Learn about shrinkage, how to roll out the clay and add texture, how to shape the ring and get a good join. Create something unique by adding stones, decorations and small accents. Learn how to fire your ring and then finish your piece to a professional standard.
Previous attendance of a basic silver clay workshop is preferred for this workshop.

CREATE A SPLIT RING

Make an interesting split ring, to your own size and design, from either copper or silver or a combination of both. First, learn how to take a ring size accurately. You will then make a piece consisting of two rings that are connected together in a specific place and then parted to create this flattering split ring shank. See the magic of soldering at its best. Add a decorative feature at the front and you have a beautiful, unusual piece of jewellery.

FUSED GLASS JEWELLERY

An exciting half day workshop exploring the possibilities of combining decorative inclusions with fused glass to make up to five unique pieces of jewellery. Experiment with clear sheet glass, copper sheet and wire, delicate metal leaf and sparkling mica powders, combining to create beautiful effects. All work made during the day will need to be fired in a kiln and collected at a later date.

ANODISED ALUMINIUM

Using a selection of water based dyes, permanent markers and inks, spend most of the day dyeing and patterning aluminium and then fixing the colours to make them permanent. Aluminium is a very easy metal to work with and, in the last part of the workshop, you will cut some simple shapes to make pendants or earrings and look at other exciting possibilities. This is a very easy craft to continue at home.
