LEAVES ON GLASS

An exciting workshop working with coloured glass enamels to create delicate images on the surface of the glass.
Collect leaves and other foliage from the garden and hedgerows to use throughout the day, exploring ways to transfer and apply their delicate patterns to the surface of the glass. Make a selection of 4 coasters and a panel.
Your work will need to be fired and collected at a later date.

TERRARIUM FOR AIR CACTI

Create a unique habitat for an air cactus or plant by constructing your own small terrarium. Choose between a wall mounted or hanging design and using a mix of colourful glass and copper foil, learn how to cut glass and use creative soldering to construct your terrarium. Your piece will be finished with an air cactus and can be taken home on the day.

Design and make a fused glass panel for a tealight using a technique called 'pate de verre'. Learn how to use coloured glass powders and crushed glass to create your own beautiful glass tealight. Tealight bases will be supplied.

LAMPWORK

An introduction to the exciting art of making beautiful glass beads through the process of lampwork.
Learn how to melt glass in a flame and through simple exercises create a small selection of simple beads. Enhance these with some basic surface decoration and, after cooling, you will be shown how you can string your work onto a simple bracelet or necklace.

INTRODUCTION TO MOSAIC

LANDSCAPES AND SEASCAPES

Learn how to create your very own A4 mosaic panel. You will be shown how to apply tesserae and the techniques of using mosaic nippers, adhesives and grouts. Learn how to develop an awareness of working with your glass creating subtle tonal changes to enhance your landscape or seascape mosaic panel.

MIX AND MATCH GLASS BOWLS

Learn the fundamentals of sandblasting and engraving glass whilst designing and making a bowl. Start by decorating coloured glass blanks using these two simple but effective surface decoration techniques. Using a glass cutter you will learn how to cut up your pieces and how to arrange them to form a patchwork for your bowls.
These will then be fused and slumped in the kiln ready for you to collect at a later date.
